The event was held at the RPC London Office on Wednesday 11 July 2018.

This session included; 

  • Terminology - The complex and ever-changing trans* terminology minefield
  • UK Law - UK Trans* law today and proposed changes
  • Simple initial trans* inclusivity tips for employers
  • Never say to a trans* person - questions and subjects to avoid
  • Q&A.

The objective was to offer an understanding of gender identity, that will help confidence and respectful interactions.

The event was presented by:

Rachel Reese, founder of Global Butterflies and vice-chair of the Law Society's LGBT Lawyers Division Committee. Rachel also works alongside organisations such as The Solicitors Regulation Authority and Aspiring Solicitors.

Emma Cusdin has over 20 years experience in Human Resources having worked for global financial services organisations. She is currently a People Director with Aviva and is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development. Emma joined Global Butterflies as Director in 2018.
