Legal Leaders: The unique role of the in-house lawyer

Legal Leaders Programme 2024

  • Event date: 04 December 2024 02:00 PM
  • Event type: Webinar
  • Duration: 1 hour
  • Provided by: The Centre for Legal Leadership and Thomson Reuters

We are delighted to be continuing our special content partnership with Thomson Reuters into 2024.

The Programme consists of four virtual events, each focusing on a different theme relevant to the role and career of in-house lawyers.

Each event runs for one hour from 2.00 pm and includes a presentation by two prominent in-house lawyers together with a Q&A session.

The in-house lawyer often occupies something of a unique position in their organisation. They may have to wear one or more hats - legal adviser, business facilitator, compliance and risk analyst, confidante, manager, executive and the champion (or one of them) of high ethical standards in the organisation. In addition, they are often privileged to work with clients from across the organisation providing the lawyer with a rare overview of what’s happening and enabling them to help ‘link the dots’ when needed.

In this session, we will look at how to juggle these varying responsibilities and how this unique role can be both important and satisfying.

Our two regular presenters are both experienced, senior in-house lawyers well versed in dealing with many of these matters, who will speak about their personal experiences in handling some of these challenges.

You can register your interest using the form below. Please note that invites and confirmations will be sent closer to the event date.

Our guest presenters are Binnie Goh, General Counsel and Director at the Electoral Commission and Natasha Doulia, Associate General Counsel at KPMG LLP.
