Regulation Forum: Is ‘light touch’ regulation possible or even desirable?

The regulatory environment is evolving at pace, driven by a convergence of complex risks, rising public expectations and a renewed focus on responsible business practices.

The Future of Regulation Forum is a quarterly, invite-only series, hosted with our friends at RPC, bringing together senior general counsel, in-house legal leaders and regulators to debate how regulation must adapt to shape markets that are resilient, innovative and trusted.

Once a symbol of market-friendly policy-making, light-touch regulation now faces growing scepticism in an increasingly complex and risk-conscious world. Has this approach become a relic of the past, or are there still environments where it can safely drive innovation?

In this session, we will test the boundaries of proportionality, challenge assumptions about “better regulation,” and assess how regulators and businesses can work together to balance flexibility with responsibility in today’s volatile climate.

This Forum is open to in-house General Counsel, Heads of Legal, Senior Counsel, Regulatory and Compliance decision-makers from all sectors.

Please note that this forum will operate under the Chatham House Rule, allowing participants to use the information received, but not to reveal the identity or affiliation of the speakers or any other participant.
