About the speakers

Cavan Fabris is a Partner at RPC and Head of Data & Cyber.  He is a dedicated and trusted counsellor on technology issues with a particular focus on cyber and data privacy. With over 25 years of experience his multifaceted career spans client-facing roles at Am Law 100 and Big 4 firms, in-house counsel positions at tech giants Apple and HP and diplomatic service with the U.S. Department of State.

Cavan advises a broad range of clients, from innovative startups to FTSE 100 multinationals, on strategic data privacy, cyber incident response, AI, and commercial and regulatory telecoms challenges.

"My career is built on a foundation of hands-on industry experience married with legal expertise and diplomatic acumen."

Jon Bartley is a Partner at RPC with expertise in data protection and privacy, AI, technology contracts, and consumer law. He generally represents clients from consumer brands and retail or social media and technology sectors. His work often also involves a significant regulatory element.

“I work closely with many European and US firms, and bring deep expertise from 26 years of practice in data protection, consumer, and contract law. This experience enables me to get to the root of an issue quickly and provide a practical way through.

I’m happy to go beyond purely technical or legal answers, get off the fence, and offer advice on practical risk. Clients appreciate this friendly, unstuffy, solutions-oriented approach, which I’m able to take because I’ve often worked on similar issues for other clients."
