SharePoint for in-house legal teams: getting your information under control

Make SharePoint work better for your legal team

  • Event date: 14 January 2027 12:00 PM
  • Event type: Webinar
  • Duration: 1 hour
  • Provided by: The Centre for Legal Leadership

Many in-house legal teams use SharePoint to store documents and information, but it can quickly become a dumping ground, with complicated folder structures, duplicate documents and information stored in different places.

In this practical session, Justin Turman, facilitated by CLL consultant Steve Bynghall, will look at how SharePoint is designed to organise information and how legal teams can make better use of it.

What we will cover:

  • The pros and cons of traditional folder structures.
  • How SharePoint combines folders with more structured ways of organising information.
  • How to organise legal information so it is easier to find and manage.
  • Common ways legal teams use SharePoint and where they can go wrong.
  • How SharePoint fits with Teams, OneDrive and the wider Microsoft 365 environment.

Who should attend

The session will be particularly useful for in-house lawyers and legal operations professionals who use SharePoint but want to understand how it can be used more effectively to support the day-to-day work of a legal team.
