Now in its 4th year, the CLL Development Programme is an interactive programme built around all those matters that matter to in-house lawyers and covering skills, management, leadership, strategy, relationships and career. It’s open to all in-house lawyers, wherever you work and whatever your level of experience.
Each session emphasises a different aspect of the in-house lawyer’s role and career and we encourage participants to bring along any issues of particular interest to them.
In this session we explore different ways of collaborating with others, the importance of developing good networks and how to do this, understanding what your clients really need from you, communicating and measuring legal risks and working with senior management and organisational boards and committees.
One of the attractions of working in-house is that you are more closely involved in the work of the organisation, with the opportunity to see what you do in a wider context. It also means that you’re likely to have lots of contact with colleagues from across the organisation, including with those in senior roles. This emphasises the importance of being able to work collaboratively with colleagues in different departments and disciplines so as to progress projects and solve problems.
Discussion points will include:
- Ways of collaborating;
- Working with senior management and the board;
- Networks and networking;
- Mapping future changes and risks.
The sessions last for 90 minutes and start at 8.30 am to fit in with our participants’ schedules. They take place under Chatham House rule and we don’t record the sessions or publicise attendance.
Attendance is free. You can attend all the sessions or any combination of them.
