Financial CrimeCast 7 Osama Al Jayousi

Welcome to Financial CrimeCast. In this series, the Centre for Legal Leadership, supported by RPC, talks to leaders in the field of financial crime, compliance and ethics.

Guests discuss their career journey, what they have learnt along the way and the financial crime issues they see on the horizon.

In this episode, Sam Tate, Head of White Collar Crime and Compliance at RPC, is joined by Osama Al Jayousi, a world-leading expert in matters of compliance, risk management and governance with over 12 years' experience of managing compliance issues for multi-national FTSE 250 corporations.

Unlike many of Financial CrimeCast's previous guests, Osama's career actually started in accounting at one of the Big 4 before going on to cover corporate governance, the introduction of the Bribery Act, GDPR implementation and obligations surrounding the Modern Slavery Act on a global scale. In reflecting on his career progression, Osama highlights the importance of building good external networks, working smart and focusing on impact over perfection.

Sam and Osama also discuss current and developing trends on the horizon, including the risk cryptocurrency poses, how societal pressure is driving Environmental, Social, and Corporate Governance (ESG) requirements and how the past year has significantly impacted third-party risk management for many businesses.
