Caroline is a former Barrister, now Business Psychologist and Coach.
Caroline currently works for Intrepid Associates, who specialise in helping lawyers and their teams to build their awareness of their own and others’ work styles, mindsets, preferences and behaviours; building braver and more open work cultures, and enabling teams to get more done, with less stress and happier people.
She uses her 15 years’ experience of Career, Leadership, Performance and Executive (workplace) Coaching to help develop graduates, managers and senior leaders at all levels in the legal sector to set measurable goals, identify and overcome internal and external obstacles, and find the motivation to achieve sustainable change.
She also has expert knowledge of the management and leadership skills required to help individuals and firms to achieve success, and has delivered bespoke Leadership Development programmes including Building a High-Performance Culture; Emotional Intelligence and Resilience; Leadership, Engagement and Motivation; Leading Self and Others; and Leadership Communication and Presentation Skills.
She combines this with her treasured experience of living overseas in the UAE, Belgium Canada, and Australia, and working with over 50 different nationalities, which gives her a strong understanding of both local and global context.
Before she went through her own career transition, Caroline had a successful 14-year career as a Barrister, running a busy civil litigation practice, whilst also contributing to strategy, marketing and business development in Chambers, and delivering CPD accredited legal training to Law firms. This has given her a unique insight into (and memory of!) the ‘pain points’ and challenges experienced by in house lawyers and professionals in the legal sector in particular, and other organisations operating in high-pressure, and high risk/ reward environments.
