We are thrilled to share that the Centre for Legal Leadership (CLL) has been honoured with the Community Impact Award at this year’s AML Leadership, Influence & Inclusivity Awards, recognising the creation of our Junior to Mid Level Lawyer Network (JMLN).
The awards, formerly known as the Women, Influence & Power in Law UK Awards (WIPL), celebrate values-led leadership, collective impact, and cultural transformation. The Community Impact Award specifically recognises initiatives that deliver high-impact outcomes rooted in purpose, collaboration, and long-term benefit for the wider community.
In 2024, CLL launched the JMLN in close collaboration with RPC, addressing a clear gap in the profession: many junior and mid-level lawyers highlighted the limited opportunities to connect with peers, share experiences, and build the networks essential for long-term career success. The network is proudly co-led by RPC Associate Sophie Yantian and Senior CLL Programme Executive Beth Seccombe.
Since its launch, the JMLN has hosted three successful events - one in 2024 and two in 2025 (May and November) - each designed to go beyond technical training. Our focus has been on authentic networking, personal brand development, and shaping fulfilling careers. Accessibility is at the heart of the network: all events are free and open to a broad cross-section of junior lawyers across industries, backgrounds, and organisations.
The network’s inclusive ethos is reflected in the themes we choose and the platform we provide for junior voices. Speaking opportunities are offered to junior and mid-level lawyers, many of whom are engaging in public speaking for the first time. This approach not only amplifies under-represented voices but also builds confidence and visibility early in their careers.
To date, the JMLN has welcomed over 200 attendees, with each event drawing increasing numbers and featuring interactive workshops, networking sessions, and inspiring guest speakers. Feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, reflecting the real value the network brings to the profession.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who helped bring the JMLN to life and to our community for its incredible support. These milestones, and this award, would not have been possible without you.
We look forward to continuing to grow the network and its impact, driving meaningful connection and career development across the legal community. We will be announcing more information about our May 2026 event in the New Year – for now, pre-register by contacting us.
